Please see below for some important updates from us regarding the Coronavirus, and what we’re doing to help our landlords.
Health and Wellbeing
In times like this everyone’s main priority needs to be the health and wellbeing of themselves and loved ones, therefore, we are doing our upmost to play our part in following Government guidelines on the management of Coronavirus.
Office & Homeworking
Due to the importance & continuity in the management of potentially your biggest asset during this difficult period, we have now implemented home working for all of our staff. Due to advanced technology and forward thinking there should be no disruption in the service provided to you.
Repairs will continue to be managed us, taking into account the urgency and safety of the contractor. Rents will still be monitored on a monthly basis and managed by McLean Property Services, limiting any human interaction and protecting the health & wellbeing off all our staff, tenants and landlords alike.
Marketing and Letting
We are advised viewings of properties are not to take place by any letting agent, or estate agent selling, whether it is occupied or not, these services are not classed as an essential function, regrettably we will have to put any marketing on hold.
Repairs & Contractors
We have received clarity from the Government for the appropriate procedures that should be undertaken by agents and landlords with the best interest of all parties in mind. This includes relevant safety checks.
We will ask tenants the following questions prior to us instructing works –
- Do you or anyone occupying the property have any symptoms of Coronavirus infection (COVID-19) however mild? (symptoms include a new continuous cough and/or high temperature)
- Are you or anyone occupying the property in the process of being tested for Coronavirus infection (COVID-19)?
- Are you or anyone in the property self-isolating due to suspecting Coronavirus infection (COVID-19)?
- Have you or anyone occupying the property been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for coronavirus infection (COVID-19)?
- Could you or anyone occupying the property be considered higher risk of severe illness due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Whilst we appreciate that both landlords and tenants alike would like all maintenance completing within quick timeframes, we also have a duty of care in protecting everyone’s health and following government guidelines therefore, we will not be undertaking any maintenance that isn’t an absolute necessity.
Rental Payments & Mortgage Relief
In the meantime, and whilst we are awaiting the relevant information required to support tenants, we will be managing rental accounts on an individual basis and will contact you should it be required. The Government have advised that mortgage relief will include BTL mortgages subject to terms and conditions, if you are concerned about your current financial situation, I would recommend contacting your lender.
On the advice of ARLA we are cancelling all planned inspections until we are advised it is safe to renew
Check Out inspections & Move Ins
We normally aim to complete check out reports within 48 hours, due to the current circumstances there may be a delay in this. We can only proceed with move-in appointments that have already been arranged.
Viewings & Valuations
Due to possible exposure to all parties we are advised viewings should not take place, unless it is virtual viewings on empty properties and valuations. We are still taking queries from interested parties on properties advertised.
